Utility Water Meter Integration

Pulse output integration via the utility company. Most accurate measurement since pulses originate from the utility meter. The utility owns and manages calibration, maintenance, and replacement.

BTU (Thermal Energy) Meters

Measure the thermal energy delivered or extracted by a fluid — chilled water, hot water, or steam condensate. Combine flow with supply/return temperature differential to compute energy transfer in BTUs or kWh.

Ultrasonic Flow Meters

Two configurations for every pipe

Clamp-on (External)

Sensors clamp onto the outside of the pipe — ideal for retrofits, no process shutdown, and well suited for water, HVAC, and low-pressure gas.

Inline

Installed directly within the pipeline for maximum accuracy in high-precision industrial processes, compressed air, and high-pressure gas.

Limitations

  • Requires clean, bubble-free liquid for accurate transit-time measurement

Integration Approach

For utility meters, Emergent coordinates pulse output requests and installs bridge hardware. For new BTU or ultrasonic meters, we assess pipe configuration, supply and install the appropriate meter, and connect to the Panoramic Power platform or your existing BMS via MODBUS or BACnet.
